Limnos, being the 8th-largest island in Greece with a coastline of approximately 260km, has many beaches. There are approximately a 100 and around 30 of them are accessible. Most of them are sandy with surface waters and have the appropriate infrastructure (parasols, sunbeds, etc.). In all the organized beaches of the island, the parasols and the sunbeds are free of charge, while there are beach bars–cafes and restaurants, offering great service and low prices. The access to these beaches is very easy, with few exceptions, as the road network of the island is very good, giving the visitor the chance to choose between calm or social beaches.
A great advantage of the island is that the capital of the island, Myrina, has 3 wonderful beaches, just 10-15 minute walk from the central market, with clear and clean waters, sand and a great view. The main beaches of the island can be separated into the following categories:
Social, calm and deserted.
